Keeping the Used Car Inventories Moving

There are many things which happen in the New Year and as people begin to adjust to the changes they often decide to make some changes themselves. This is part of the interesting things about reading the latest news and it is especially true if you are interested in specific topics. The primary topic we like to keep up with includes the automotive industry. There are many new hopes for a renewed market in the coming year and so we have attempted to stay involved with the changes so that we can be prepared. This is going to appeal to anyone whether they are interested in new cars or used cars the ideas are still the same.

The primary idea is to save on the purchase price and in the weak economy this is often easy enough to do. One issue that so many people run into though is that it can be hard for them to acquire any type of financing for the new car purchase. This is really a problem and it is often due to the person not having a decent history and therefore they are going to have to settle for less desirable options. However many of the used car dealers will actually work with people like this, they will usually require stricter terms though. This would be the best scenario for those with no other options so it is better than nothing.

This will likely be the same way for 2013 because there are not too many new cars which are offering incentives that these people could be approved for. Everything takes qualifying for and thus they are left to look at the used cars available within their area. The good point we read in the news recently is that there are quite a few really good, low mileage used cars that are for sale and that the dealership is willing to work out some type of financing as well. This is always nice to hear that even people with bad financial histories can still get a good used car. This is also good for the dealership in most instances because they need to keep their used vehicle inventory moving as well.

Rising New Car Prices and Regulations

There are always top tier reports of the new cars which are put into production each year and the comparisons of the best models are often the ones which draw the most attention in the media. The specific categories which have the highest degree of importance among the needs of today’s consumers are beginning to trend in a completely different direction than what they have in the past. This is a response to the ongoing rise in the cost of fuel as well as the regulations which are currently just over the horizon. Specifically this is the category of fuel efficiency and how it is rated by the EPA. These are the big stickers that you find on the side windows of all new cars and the information which the provide gives an estimate of what the fuel economy of each new car and truck happens to be. The price of a new car may be significantly affected by these regulations in the not so distant future.

The actual focus on the EPA ratings is not exactly new in the automotive industry and as a matter of fact it has been around for many years already. The specific regulations which go into great detail and include EPA fuel economy information are representative of how this affects current as well as future new car models and how they are produced. Additionally it dictates how the auto manufacturers will need to come up with new ways of making all new vehicles more fuel efficient by a certain date. Along with the need to reduce the usage of fuel there are also ongoing concerns which focus on the effects of pollution as a result of burning the fuel in the first place. Alternatives like electric vehicle however remain quite costly to produce and thus the price tags on them are often out of reach of the typical consumer today so they are still not the primary focus.

With the price of new cars having increased within most of the vehicle categories in 2011 and the 2012 new models showing up, it does appear to indicate that with all of the extra work and research which the auto makers are having to put into designing new vehicles which will adhere to the upcoming regulations will result in higher prices for new cars in all categories. In 2011 there are several new cars under 10 000 which although did not have to adhere to the upcoming regulations, they do however represent the state of the art technology regarding fuel efficiency at this time. The actual EPA ratings of these new cars goes well over 30MPG which in comparison to other vehicle categories like SUVs for instance is going to save the average consumer who drives to and from work each day a substantial amount of money over the course of a year. There is a bit of a trade-off for this cost savings though and this is the fact that most of these new cars under 10k will be the basic trim with few features and they will be in the smaller car categories as well. The point which drivers of these cars make most often is that it is a fair trade-off because they had a specific goal to own the most cost effective vehicle which they could find.

Many economists will tell you that when you set your goals like the owners of these small, fuel efficient new cars have done, and you stick to those goals then in the end your overall savings will be significant. Ownership costs go well beyond the initial price which a person pays for a new car and the likelihood of these prices increasing is very high. Still, the costs will continue in the form of insurance, car payments, maintenance and of course the cost of keeping fuel in the car. The future beyond 2011 and into 2012 will surely see the effects of the additional regulations being implemented to meet higher EPA ratings in the fuel efficiency of new vehicles. The price of a new car will certainly reflect these changes too which does leave some concern among economists as well as consumers.

Ford Focus Small Economical New Cars

The idea these days is that the smaller, more fuel efficient cars are going to find their way into the driveways of more consumers around the globe in the future. This may already be vast in many countries, with the exception of the United States. It appears that the numbers of large, gas hogs and SUVs are still huge sellers even while the price of fuel continues to wreck havoc on the budgets of many people.

Some new car companies such as Ford are attempting to capture the attention of at least some residents around the globe with innovative next generation vehicles like the Ford Focus. The drive behind this new car is many tiered, however affordability seems to be at the forefront this time. The fuel efficient new cars are still quite popular in many parts of the world and have been for a very long time. With an updated sleek as well as sporty new look, the Ford Focus has the makings of being a highly accepted economical vehicle for the coming future.

To be offered is the four door sedan model as well as the five door hatchback which should provide enough choice in features to keep most anyone happy without breaking the bank so to speak. Ford has reportedly made it very clear that this is an approach to providing the world market with a highly reliable, safe and economical answer the high cost of long term vehicle ownership as well as the high cost of fuel these days. Many of these issues are at the forefront of the automotive news in one way or another, yet it is good to see that the combination of price, economy and quality are still being found in some of the new vehicles which are on the market today.

Toyota Announces Sequoia Recall

Although the specific numbers appear to be around 50,000 Toyota Sequoia vehicles, this is yet another recall for Toyota. The reported issue has to do with the stability control system. The fact that Toyota is very forthcoming with these issues is ultimately good for business in the eyes of prospective new car buyers. Obviously any auto manufacturer can have the need to announce recalls, and it certainly happens frequently enough, the fact is that consumers appear to appreciate this and therefore continue to buy the products.

The numbers of Toyota new car sales have certainly been impressive and this is likely due to some rather aggressive buying incentives offered by Toyota. They may have had some issues, but as time progresses to the point where people realize that any vehicles are complex pieces of machinery and that there will always be issues which arise after the product has been sold. This is a reality in the manufacturing of any product. It is not certain to happen, but the engineering of the perfect product may be a bit on the outside the realm in all reality.

Today the automotive industry needs to provide value. This is what consumers appear to be most interested in right now. Toyota as well as a few other automotive manufactures are making the decision process a bit more enticing. The used car industry is often a major factor in the car buying decision process so the price points need to fulfill exactly what it is that the consumer happens to be looking for in order to compete.

China to assume Role in Volkswagen Electric Car

Volkswagen has recently revealed a new electric car that happens to be reportedly aimed at the burgeoning Chinese automotive market. This is also basically an endorsement towards the creation of hundreds of new jobs to the vicinities of the automotive manufacturing facilities which will accompany the production. In essence, the jobs are tremendously needed and an additional component of the Chinese economy. Strong but reliable the production number are not supposed to begin for a few years due to the massive construction.

Over the years Volkswagen has played an exceptional role in maintaining the level of automotive sales in China and reportedly this will soon be much more so then ever thought. In many other places in the world they are fully aware of how important this automotive news is. Apparently the new electric car concept, of which there is a significant lack of used cars of this type, happens to be a highly welcomed change to the country which is more than likely why the details have finally been revealed at the Beijing car show recently.
